Basic Job Functions: * This position manages the operations through design and statistical analysis of business initiatives and experiments. Works with business partners to understand what the business needs and issues are to address. Applies advanced knowledge of statistics and data mining (e.g., predictive modelling, simulation) or other mathematical techniques to recognize patterns and create insights from business data. Designs, develops, and evaluates statistical and predictive models that lead to business solutions. Supports implementation efforts. Should lead and mentor the team. Education/Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Statistics, or Physics with 6+ years of relevant work experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning algorithm development * Master’s degree in data science, Computer science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Statistics, or Physics with 4+ years of relevant work experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning algorithm development * PhD degree in Data Science, Computer science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Statistics, or Physics with 3+ years of relevant work experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning algorithm development Required Skills/Competencies: * Demonstrated skill of managing teams; Ability to coach and mentor team members to drive results * Demonstrated experience with programming languages and statistical software tools (Python, SAS, R, JMP or similar), relational databases (SQL server), data analysis and visualization software (preferably PowerBI, SAS). * Demonstrated experience with standard data science and machine learning packages such as Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, seaborn, bokeh, plotly * Demonstrated experience with the machine learning model stack (regression, classification, neural networks, time series) and packages (Scikit learn, Xgboost, Keras, Pytorch, Tensorflow, statsmodels) * Demonstrated experience of the machine learning model tradeoffs such as hyper-parameter tuning, regularization, cross-validation, skewness in data, dimensionality reduction, and complexity vs interpretability. * Demonstrated experience with utilizing advanced descriptive statistics and analysis techniques (such as forecasting, analysis of variance, t-tests, categorical data analysis, nonparametric data analysis, cluster analysis, factor analysis and multivariate statistical analysis) design business experiments and measure the impact of business actions. * Demonstrated experience with computer vision models (e.g. image classification, object detection, and segmentation) * Demonstrated experience on Generative AI implementation, AI agents and relevant stack * Demonstrated experience on deployment of models and MLOPs and AIOps. * Strong understanding of any of the cloud platforms * Demonstrated experience working with various business partners to scope and design the statistical framework for business solutions and socialize and help integrate results. * Strong communication skills to work with groups, and experience with communicating business implications of complex data relationships and results of statistical models to multiple business partners. Essential Responsibilities: * Statistical Analysis & Model Development * Partners with business stakeholders within assigned domain to identify and scope analytical opportunities aligned to business priorities * Works with data engineering, IT, and Enterprise Data Management teams to access, prepare, and validate datasets for modeling * Performs exploratory data analysis using statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, clustering, data mining) to generate insights and guide model development * Develops and implements programs/scripts for: Statistical testing, Correlation and feature analysis, Data validation and quality checks * Translates business problems into analytical hypotheses and modeling approaches * Leads experimental design for domain-level initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives * Applies statistical techniques such as:ANOVA, t-tests, Regression and multivariate analysis & Simulation methods * Develops predictive models (e.g., regression, classification, time-series models) to support business decisions * Builds and deploys specialized models (e.g., computer vision models) where applicable to the domain * Defines testing strategies and evaluates model performance using appropriate metrics * Iterates on models by incorporating findings and improving accuracy and business relevance * Owns end-to-end delivery of analytics solutions within their area, ensuring timelines and quality * Provides technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to data scientists and analysts in the team * Supports execution of complex experiments, while aligning with broader strategy set by the Senior Management * Model Consultation, Implementation, & Communication * Acts as a domain-level lead, supporting business teams with data-driven insights and model-based decisioning * Leads medium to large analytics projects within the assigned area, ensuring successful delivery * Prepares and presents insights, recommendations, and model outcomes to business stakeholders * Works with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations) to: Integrate models into business processes, Enable adoption of analytical solutions * Communicates complex analytical concepts in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical audiences * Drives adoption and usage of models and insights within the business function * Supports knowledge transfer by: Training business users on analytics solutions & Upskilling junior team members on tools and methodologies * Contributes to defining and standardizing best practices, reusable frameworks, and analytical methodologies within the team * MLOps & Deployment Support * Works with engineering/MLOps teams to deploy models into production environments * Ensures models are tested, scalable, maintainable * Supports Model monitoring, Performance tracking, Periodic retraining processes * Contributes to improving deployment pipelines and automation practices within the team * Team Leadership & Delivery Management * Leads a team of data scientists within a specific domain or business area * Plans and allocates work, ensuring effective utilization of team capacity * Tracks progress, manages risks, and ensures on-time, high-quality delivery of projects * Coaches and develops team members through: Regular feedback, technical mentoring, Career development guidance * Ensures adherence to coding standards, documentation practices, and model governance protocols * Collaborate with peer Data Science Managers and the Senior Manager to align priorities and resource planning * Industry Research & Continuous Improvement * Stays updated on relevant analytical techniques, tools, and domain trends * Identifies opportunities to improve existing models, processes, and frameworks * Contributes ideas for innovation within their area and supports experimentation with new approaches * Applies emerging tools and methods selectively to enhance team effectiveness and solution quality Reporting Relationships: * Will report to Senior Manager – Data science, India * This role will have direct reports Travel: * Up to 10% Travel depending on Business requirements Physical Requirements: * Will sit and stand for long periods of time during the day. * Will walk, climb stairs and on equipment. * May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist * May lift up to 50 lbs. * Required to use hands to finger, lift, handle, carry or feel objects. * May stoop, kneel, bend, talk and hear. * Specific vision abilities are required. * All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (require little or no facial hair).
