Description Manager, Development About Us Fullmark Energy is a leading energy storage IPP that develops, owns and operates standalone storage projects in the U.S. The platform is owned by InfraRed Capital, an infrastructure investment with over $14 billion in assets under management. Job Summary The Manager, Development is responsible for managing all aspects of development projects from site origination to start of construction and plays a major supporting role during project construction. This role is central to the success of projects moving from idea to commercial viability over a multi-year schedule. This is a high-visibility role in a fast-growing company. Interested individuals possessing experience with early-stage energy project development, familiarity with regulatory frameworks, and a functional and financial understanding of power plants are encouraged to apply. The Manager, Development will report to the Senior Director, Head of Development. Responsibilities · Manage all aspects of development for select projects in Fullmark Energy’s development portfolio, from site acquisition through to Notice to Proceed for construction · Take ownership of building and implementing essential project management tools and process, such as schedule, budget, risk registers, and financial forecast of assigned projects · Use software tools and coordinate with the analytics team to research and locate greenfield/acquisition opportunities · Negotiate site control agreements with landowners · Coordinate with internal and external groups focused on engineering, interconnection, finance, and project delivery · Manage external consultants and advisors across various subject matters · Advance projects through all required federal, state, and local pre-construction permitting · Lead responses to energy storage RFPs and originate and manage potential offtake opportunities · Frequent travel across the United States, working with local stakeholders including landowners, local governments, economic development entities, permitting authorities, utilities, etc. · Interact with varied stakeholder groups and negotiate agreements that allow projects to proceed · Conduct market research to determine trends and opportunities in energy storage sector · Communicate professionally, respectfully, and effectively Work Conditions The Manager, Development will be based in Chicago, IL and may work in a hybrid arrangement with a combination of in-office and remote work. Requirements Required Qualifications · 4+ years of power plant development or project management experience · Bachelor’s degree preferred · Ability to interpret, distill, and communicate complex information effectively · Self-motivated, innovative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment · Understanding of energy markets, products, and pricing structures · Focus on achieving targets and delivering outcomes · Flexibility to navigate changing market conditions and business priorities · Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with Microsoft Project and Google Earth are a plus · Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or similar) preferred Skills & Competencies · Strong project management process and task-tracking skills, including decision-point processes (such as stage gate, etc.) and detailed budget forecasting · Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities · Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills · Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop trust with stakeholders · Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and project risks
