Reports to the Director of Procurement Digital Transformation & Strategy supporting the groups digital transformation objectives and fostering the innovation and change culture within the group. The role will be responsible in developing product and technology architecture objectives as well as lead efforts in organizing the research and prototype/wireframing of new SaaS software solutions, features, automation/AI technology and innovative design capabilities in the market and within BMO. They will also be supporting leadership in maintaining the procurement roadmap and digital strategy ensuring timely status updates, cross-group coordination and logistical support for implementation planning. They will lead pre-requisite activities, provide insights on design, development, management and implementation of assigned strategic initiatives and innovation targets from business case development through to execution. Will also report and measure success criteria, goals and key performance metrics to support initiative/program monitoring and identify trends. Works across BMO to deliver specific initiative/program results in alignment with overall group goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Combination of Financial Services and Technology exposure; solid understanding of digital issues/trends and how to leverage technology for competitive advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of BMO’s digital channels, automation technology including citizen-based models within LOB groups and workplace technology platforms and services.
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
- Procurement (Sourcing, Buy Desk, Third Party Risk, External Labor, Accounts Payables, Supplier Relationship Management etc.) experience.
- Digital transformation initiatives lead experience - asset.

Responsibilities:
- Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group for assigned initiatives/business programs.
- Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
- Supports leadership and provides input into the planning and implementation of new digital programs and innovation areas for business group.
- Maintains and updates the overall digital transformation roadmap for group.
- Helps determine business priorities and the business or digital transformation priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
- Keeps abreast of new automation technology and usage within the enterprise.
- Leads capability assessments and R&D for new software solutions and partners with T&O to support technology requirements.
- Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Supports business management and team operations activities, with focus on digital change intake operations and digital roadmap alignment between stakeholders.
- Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations to advise leadership strategy.
- Employs systems (e.g. customized exception reports, tracking reports etc.) to manage information on group priorities and roadmap items.
- Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
- Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards on team operational activities or business management topics.
- Participates in change management activities related to Procurement.
- Assists leader in the development of strategic plans around new technology solutions or capabilities research and provide recommendations on application and best practice within the business functional area.
- Familiarizes themselves with enterprise standards and controls on digital initiative and software management including any process and controls on use of new automation technology.
- Reviews the ongoing programs for effectiveness, considers industry trends and recommends enhancements; makes changes as required.
- Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
