The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Corrections Victoria, is seeking a Manager, Digital Operations to provide a critical role within the Digital Operations Unit.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • A tertiary qualification in law, public policy or similar is desired.
  • A qualification or relevant experience in a technology environment would be highly advantageous.
  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager, Digital Operations Unit reports to the Deputy Commissioner, Custodial Operations and is responsible for managing a team as well as the provision of strategic advice and briefings in relation to in-cell technology.
While the position is based at 121 Exhibition Street Melbourne, flexible work arrangements are available, in accordance with DJCS policies, and you will be required to travel to other locations based on business needs.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Manage the Digital Operations Unit and the provision of high-quality, authoritative, strategic advice; high-level briefing papers and proposals in relation to in-cell technology, the access of information technology solutions available to people in custody, and the preparation of complex correspondence on behalf of the Commissioner, Corrections Victoria’s Executive Committee and Government.
  • Review, develop, and implement operational policy as it relates to digital operations across the Victorian prison system.
  • Research and evaluate service delivery options and provide strategic advice and guidance on the impact of enhancements to service delivery and related issues.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policy frameworks and processes aligned to government and statutory requirements that deliver agreed outcomes is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of and/or experience in Victorian government administrative processes.
  • Proven track record in providing advice within a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of current technology direction, research and issues within the justice system more broadly, or the ability to understand these issues quickly.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with ability to analyse complex operational, policy, risk and legal data and issues
