Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As the Manager Diversity & Inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a culture that reflects the rich diversity of NSW. You’ll lead a passionate team that delivers inclusive programs and frameworks, grounded in best practice and aligned with government objectives and community expectations. From designing strategic policy and overseeing employee-led reference groups to evaluating the impact of inclusion initiatives, you will turn vision into meaningful, measurable action across the department.
You will guide the implementation of diversity and inclusion strategies, working closely with the broader department to embed these into our core functions. With your expertise and awareness of emerging themes, you’ll inform innovative approaches to workplace inclusion while balancing contrasting views and navigating complex stakeholder relationships. You’ll be a trusted advisor, helping managers and leaders connect diversity with business outcomes, and driving organisational change to ensure everyone feels seen, valued and supported.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Experienced in developing governance frameworks and driving cultural transformation through policy, data insights and employee engagement.
  • Confident in navigating sensitive conversations and differing perspectives to achieve shared inclusion outcomes.
  • Skilled in using research and metrics to evaluate and continuously improve diversity and belonging initiatives.
  • Able to lead cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external community stakeholders to amplify inclusion in both service delivery and workplace culture.
