Description

Primary Goal: The Translation Manager oversees the team of translation project managers responsible for delivering translation projects. The manager will oversee multiple language service integration projects, new client implementations of translation and localization services and support acquisition activities for GLOBO. This critical role is accountable for the overall success of the translation portfolio, provides innovative solutions for GLOBO translation systems and processes, and helps cultivate future opportunities by maintaining a high level of program quality and customer loyalty. This role works very closely with all GLOBO divisions and the GLOBO leadership team to successfully deliver translation projects. The manager will be measured on the on-time delivery of quotes, projects and their ability to achieve an established project margin, among other metrics.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years business experience
  • 3-5 years of project management experience with a proven track record of successfully managing multiple complex projects concurrently
  • Prior experience leading, managing, and mentoring a team
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills native or near-native proficiency in another language is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of localization and website translation project management preferred
  • Understanding and working knowledge of CAT tools and workflows preferred
  • Knowledge of translation industry standards and best practices
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This position predominantly operates in a professional remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, or phones. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand up or to sit for up to eight hours or more at a time. The employee must use his/her hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
