COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Strong people leadership skills – demonstrated experience managing a team
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and client facing skills
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems
  • Strong Computer skills – MS Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Ability to read and understand basic financials
  • Ability to train others and complete succession planning.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-Secondary education required. A combination of equivalent experience and education will be considered
  • Minimum of five years’ leadership experience in logistics or 3PL industries
  • Multi-clients experience an asset.
Responsibilities

Operations

  • The subject matter expert in day-to-day operation and provide support to supervisors to solve day to day issues
  • Act as a key liaison between the operations, clients, and site management
  • Ensure delivery deadlines and quality objectives are met
  • Manage a team of Supervisors and assign them supervisory duties
  • Improve the operational systems, processes in support of organizations mission specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning
  • Keep Senior manager advised of progress or problems requiring attention daily
  • Keep abreast of operational progress or problems.

People Management

  • Required to complete forecasting and labor planning
  • Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with DSV’s policies and procedures in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork
  • Ensures clear performance standards, provides specific and timely feedback, and owns management development for their team
  • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals.

Communication

  • Promote a positive relationship with clients by providing excellent customer service
  • Provide proper guidance and coaching to the supervisors and to the entire team
  • Responsible for direct client facing on all operational issues and for conducting client presentations where needed
  • Must be able to partner with the clients and provide direct support. Effective and timely communication of operational issues to senior management.
