Full-time, continuing role based at Westmead Hospital (minimum 4 days on-site), with travel to Nepean and Camperdown campuses as required Competitive salary: base $126,065 plus 17% superannuation About the Opportunity The Faculty of Medicine and Health is the University of Sydney’s largest faculty, comprising seven academic schools, including Sydney Medical School (SMS). SMS delivers the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program through its metropolitan and rural clinical schools, which work in close collaboration with Local Health Districts (LHDs) and the communities they serve. We are seeking to appoint a Manager, Education Support, a skilled and people-focused leader with a track record of empowering high-performing teams. This role provides leadership across Westmead, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and Nepean Clinical Schools. Based primarily at Westmead Hospital, with occasional travel to Nepean, the position is central to the successful delivery of the MD Program and the advancement of world-class medical education in Western Sydney’s fast-growing health and research precinct. As Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the student experience and ensuring the effective coordination of teaching and learning. You will lead, develop, and inspire education support teams, foster collaborative relationships with academic and clinical partners, and champion continuous improvement in educational delivery. Key priorities include: providing strategic and operational leadership across multiple clinical schools to ensure the consistent, high-quality delivery of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program in alignment with Faculty priorities. leading, mentoring, and developing education support teams to foster collaboration, accountability, and a culture of service excellence. enhancing the student experience by ensuring learners are well supported academically, clinically, and professionally throughout their program. building and maintaining strong partnerships with clinical, academic, professional, and Local Health District colleagues to deliver integrated, practice-based education. supporting the Manager, Education Support (Sydney Medical School) with monitoring, reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement of education support processes. driving innovation in education administration and contributing to the development of the next generation of doctors by upholding professionalism, engagement, and high standards in medical education. About You We are seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking leader who: proven experience leading teams and delivering strategic and operational improvements in education administration. strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across faculties, schools, and clinical environments. demonstrated leadership in team management, including mentoring, staff development, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. experience supporting or delivering education programs, ideally within a tertiary or clinical education setting. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to manage competing priorities in complex and high-pressure environments.
