ABOUT YOU

We are looking for candidates with min. 5 years experience in a similar role in an international company, preferably within high volume hospitality or customer service industry. To succeed in this role you should demonstrate breadth and depth in strategic thinking with problem-solving ability, using analysis and synthesis. Ability to deliver results with a win-win approach as well as showcasing adaptability and resilience in an ever-evolving environment is key.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager of our Employee Relations team will assist the Director of Employee Relations in creating and implementing strategic employee relations programs to build commitment and passion among all colleagues across Atlantis The Palm, Atlantis The Royal and Aquaventure World. In this role you will proactively put initiatives in place that will reduce employee turnover, increase employee engagement and contribute towards Atlantis Dubai becoming an employer of choice. Apart from managing the day-to-day operations, a key aspect of the role involves contributing to strategic HR projects, including data analysis to identify trends that enable the company to take a proactive rather than reactive approach.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigations - conducting thorough investigations into allegations and other matters in conjunction with the security department/Audit Department where applicable.
  • Disciplinary process - managing preparation for and set down of disciplinary hearings and ensuring all relevant parties are present; working with the department heads to ensure they understand the process and ensuring the resort is compliant with the local labor law, policies and procedures.
  • Sickness and absence management - in conjunction with the Director, Medical Services manage all ill health colleagues; create initiatives to reduce abuse of sick leave and to retain colleagues.
  • Proactive stakeholder management - using all data available to come up with a proactive plan for the stakeholders and guide them through decisions that they have made; conducting regular focus groups and departmental visits to ensure that effective action plans are implemented and executed.
  • Grievance process - dealing with grievances and ensuring the correct procedure is followed and documented; ensuring HOD’s and colleagues understand the process and all grievances are dealt with in a fair manner.
