JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Manager with a specialism in Employment Law to manage the HR function in compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies. This role is critical in shaping our HR practices, supporting the management team, and ensuring the fair and lawful treatment of all employees.

Responsibilities
  • Advise senior management on all HR and employment law matters, ensuring legal compliance across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Manage employee relations issues including grievances, disciplinaries, capability, absence, and performance matters.
  • Ensure fair and compliant handling of probation periods, redundancies, terminations, and settlement agreements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for legal advice, liaising with external legal advisors when necessary.
  • Conduct investigations and chair formal meetings, documenting processes thoroughly.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure GDPR compliance in employee data handling.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes to ensure compliance with employment checks and safeguarding obligations.
  • Train and support managers in understanding and implementing HR policies and employment law.
  • Lead or contribute to internal audits, inspections, and accreditation processes as required.
  • Monitor legislative changes and update policies and procedures accordingly.
