    The Role
    We’re seeking to engage a Manager – Energy, Electrical to join our Power & Energy Team in this newly created role. In this role, you’ll provide expertise and client services relating to new work within the ANZ Energy market sector. This position plays an important management role in developing a national Energy market sector focus, while maintaining service excellence.
    In addition to the above, you’ll ensure the operational and technical excellence and performance of the Energy market sector with the effect of growing the SMEC Energy function through optimal people, commercial, business development, client relationship management and project performance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing operational, technical and business development management of the Energy market sector to support SMEC’s vision and values;
  • Managing the financial targets of the Energy market sector and the achievement of the Energy market sector operational plans;
  • In collaboration with the leadership, ensuring capability development and mobilisation of Energy market sector resources to support SMEC’s overall business objectives;
  • Collaborate with Regional and State Managers to manage client relationships and achieve sustainable growth through targeted client relationship management and business development activity;
  • Providing support to the leadership team and manage activity to transition regional based business model to a national service model;
  • Effectively managing and leadig a team of nominated direct reports to ensure optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development.

About You

Suitable applicants will be/have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in appropriate discipline (essential)
  • Post graduate qualifications in appropriate discipline (highly regarded)
  • Project Management qualification (desirable)
  • 10-15+ years industry experience managing multi-disciplinary Energy Projects successfully, to budget and client specifications
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in managing & leading a team effectively for performance and cohesion;
  • High level communication skills, including negotiating and resolving commercial, technical and people matters;
  • Detailed knowledge of the relevant Industry Standards and the application of these standards;
  • Thorough understanding of the local external Market and skills to translate this knowledge to projects and people;
