The role will also set up and proactively promote a set of events: hackathons, speaking events aimed as giving Technology a better understanding of what is expected of them to make the change to the Engineering Mindset.
Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Work closely with the CIO’s to ensure that there are a plurality of voices heard. In particular ensure focus is given to equity deserving groups and their voices.
  • Monitor the external environment for speaking or prize-winning opportunities for Technology Staff at all levels. Identification of internal candidates, help with the preparation of submissions and / or scriptwriting for external presentations.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
