This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, IT Integrations. Responsibility Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers (Junior to Lead levels) focused on MuleSoft integration and backend services Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and inclusivity Collaborate with Product Management and other engineering leaders to define the technical roadmap, prioritize projects, and ensure alignment with business goals Provide technical guidance and oversight on architecture and design decisions Ensure the team builds scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions using MuleSoft, Java, and cloud-native technologies Manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) for the team, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software Implement and improve Agile processes to optimize team velocity and predictability Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning Empower engineers to reach their full potential through coaching and feedback Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to attract, interview, and hire top engineering talent to scale the team Communicate project status, risks, and technical challenges to stakeholders across the organization effectively and manage dependencies and negotiate priorities Champion DevOps best practices, automated testing, and CI/CD improvements Ensure high availability and reliability of production systems through effective incident management and monitoring Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. What you bring Basic Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in backend development (Java/Spring) and enterprise integration (MuleSoft/iPaaS) 3+ years of experience managing or leading engineering teams, including performance management and hiring Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget. Strong understanding of modern software architecture (Microservices, API-led connectivity, Cloud-native) Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and project management tools (Jira, Servicenow) Preferred Experience managing teams working with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Experience leading remote or distributed teams. Understanding of security and compliance standards Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with cross-functional partners.
