Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Group General Counsel & Head of External Affairs, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of complex regulatory approvals across Talison Lithium’s mining operations and projects. This role ensures ongoing compliance with environmental and operational regulations through effective monitoring and reporting. It also plays a key role in fostering collaboration with the Environment and Social Performance teams to support integrated project delivery and drive operational sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • develop and lead approvals strategies to support new projects, site expansions, and operational changes;
  • prepare and manage high-quality submissions for environmental and mining-related approvals, including mining proposals, environmental impact assessments, and works approvals;
  • monitor changes in legislation and policy, providing clear, timely advice to internal stakeholders on potential impacts and required actions;
  • establish and maintain effective systems to ensure compliance with all environmental, mining, and statutory obligations;
  • coordinate internal audits and inspections, and lead the resolution of any identified non-conformances;
  • provide compliance guidance to operational teams and collaborate with environment and social performance teams to align approvals with sustainability objectives and manage regulatory risks;
  • integrate approvals and compliance requirements into project schedules, risk frameworks, and management plans to support seamless execution;
  • contribute to the development of environmental and social management plans that reflect approval conditions and stakeholder commitments;
  • represent Talison Lithium in regulatory and industry forums, building and maintain strong, professional relationships with government agencies;
  • support engagement with Traditional Owners and community stakeholders on matters related to approval and compliance; and
  • manage the approvals and compliance budget, align planning with business objectives and foster a safe, high-performing team environment.
