MANAGER, EVENTS AND ACQUISITION

Full-Time, Contract (End Date: January 4, 2027)
London, Ontario; with multi-site accountability within the Thames Valley Region

CMHA Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Manager of Events and Acquisition to lead the planning and execution of our major events and community engagement initiatives. From collaboration in organizing our Black and White Gala” and supporting The Run for Women events, this role is critical to building and nurturing community relationships that support our mission. POLICE VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK REQUIREMENTS

Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

WE REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or certificate in event management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
  • Current, satisfactory Police Criminal Record Check (CRC)
  • Valid driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle with adequate insurance to carry out job duties
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly

WE PREFER THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in large scale event planning, volunteer coordination, and community engagement
  • Experience in developing a third-party engagement strategy to secure ongoing and repeat events
  • Familiarity in relationship management and understanding point-of-entry event planning which includes tours, recognition and stewardship events.
  • Understanding of fundraising and philanthropy
  • Key understandings of why donors contribute and overall CMHA Thames Valley programs.
  • Outgoing, Calm under pressure, Attention to detail, Creative and Flexible
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
  • A passion for community service and a deep commitment to eliminating stigma associated with mental health and addiction
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders while developing authentic and trusting relationships
  • Exceptional communication skills, including public speaking and social media strategies
  • Average photography skills and doesn’t mind posing with donors to celebrate donations!
  • Time & Budget Management: Balances a multitude of competing tasks and prioritizes duties as needed while maintaining a focus on event revenue
  • Technology Proficiency: Competence in relevant computer applications particularly Microsoft Office and Outlook; Canva, Constant Contact, knowledge of database/CRM applications.
