Department: Office of the Vice-President for Administration and Business Job Posting Details We are seeking a creative and experienced Manager to lead the development of HKUST’s exhibitions, visitor experiences, and brand content. You will oversee and design everything from content creation and multimedia design to project execution. Key Responsibilities Museum, Multimedia & Experience Design: Architect integrated digital environments that blend spatial storytelling with user journeys, bridging physical space and interactive installations (LED walls, sensor-based systems, interactive displays, AR/VR/MR, etc.). Lead and develop the design of UI/UX, interaction logic, content behavior, and system flow. Digital Content Development: Handle multimedia design & production and develop content frameworks for interactive platforms, storytelling structures, and narrative content for museum and brand showcases, including video editing, animation, 3D modeling, rendering, motion graphics, and creating digital asset. Technical Integration & Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors to align content with hardware and software, and oversee the installation and testing of exhibition systems. Quality Assurance & Brand Governance: Ensure all designs and assets meet brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and aesthetic quality user experience benchmarks. User Experience & Visitor Engagement: Design intuitive and engaging visitor journeys across both physical and digital platforms. Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Analyze visitor feedback and data to improve exhibition effectiveness and engagement. System Architecture: Oversee the architecture of interactive systems, ensuring seamless communication between CMS backends and front-end user interfaces. Requirements A bachelor’s degree in a related design or technical field; a master's degree is a plus. 8-10 years of professional design experience, with at least 6 years in a full-time designer role at a relevant company (e.g., museum, creative agency, or exhibition company). A strong portfolio showcasing creativity and technical skill in multimedia content curation and graphic design. Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, SketchUp) and 3D/CGI applications (e.g., 3D Studio Max, Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine). Solid project management and procurement experience, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and vendors. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently to deliver high-quality results on tight deadlines. Immediate availability is preferred.
