ConsMin is a mid-size mining company headquartered in West Perth, Western Australia. Our Australian operation (Woodie Woodie) is based in the WA Pilbara, 407kms south-east of Port Hedland.
Woodie Woodie’s high-grade manganese ore is recognised as the world’s best manganese ore due to its high manganese content, high manganese to iron ratio, low phosphorous and hard, competent nature. Woodie high grade ore attracts a price premium over benchmark ores.
DESCRIPTION:
The Manager Exploration and Resources Development will drive strategic organic and inorganic growth through extension, regional exploration and acquisitions whilst managing the companies’ tenement portfolio, compliance, and cultural heritage obligations.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the successful applicant will be accountable across five key areas: Resource development and growth, Exploration management, Tenement administration, Coordination and oversight of Heritage and Native title and, Optimisation of existing resources through strategic drilling programs.
Responsibilities:
ROLE SPECIFIC DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Leading due diligence processes for new project opportunities
Coordination of technical studies to support resource development decisions
Oversight of geological modelling and resource estimation processes
Manage exploration budgets and work programs
Tenement acquisition, maintenance and compliance
Statutory reporting and expenditure commitments
Managing native title negotiations and agreement implementation
Maintain relationships with traditional owners and representative bodies
REQUIREMENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE ARE:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related discipline
Masters’ degree in Earth Science (desired)
Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience within mining and/ or exploration industry
Manganese mining experience (preferred)
Proven track record in resource development and growth
Expertise in mining legislation and compliance requirements
Proficiency in geological modelling software
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities
