Description

Thank you for your interest in joining our team! A little bit about Venture for Canada:
Venture for Canada is a national charity that fosters entrepreneurial skills and mindset in young Canadians. To be entrepreneurial is to act upon opportunities to create value for others.
We recruit, train, and support young people to work for innovative Canadian small businesses and startups. Through our programs, participants develop the network, knowledge, and entrepreneurial skills to have more impactful careers.
The resourcefulness of Canadians is essential to overcoming our country’s greatest challenges. Venture for Canada is a catalyst of systemic social change by equipping young Canadians to build a more prosperous and inclusive society.
About the Manager, Fellowship and Academy Programs:
Hi, I’m Kathleen, the Senior Manager, People Operations here at Venture for Canada (VFC). I’ll be leading the recruitment for this new opening. I’ve been with VFC since 2019 and have seen it grow from 9 to 30+ team members! We’ve got such a dedicated and hardworking team of amazing people and we’re excited to see it expand! If you’re interested in learning more about our recruitment process and workplace philosophy, check out our Careers page here.
Venture for Canada (VFC) is seeking a strategic, adaptable, and experienced program leader to oversee the delivery of the admissions operations, and applicant and stakeholder success of our Fellowship and Academy Programs. This individual will play a key role in driving performance across admissions, employer relations, and program operations, balancing the detail-oriented demands of execution with the maturity and polish needed to engage senior-level partners.
The ideal candidate brings strong professional presence, sound judgment, and experience managing high-performing programs – while also rolling up their sleeves to track data and manage stakeholder systems. You’ll represent VFC with external stakeholders, ensure program milestones are hit, and bring a lens of continuous improvement and a true growth mindset to everything that you do.
Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Strategic Execution

  • Ensure seamless launch, delivery, and conclusion of all program cycles, in collaboration with cross-functional leads from VFC’s Learning, Marketing, Admissions, and Operations Teams
  • Own performance outcomes across multiple program pipeline, from application through program completion
  • Monitor and report on weekly metrics tied to admissions, employer engagement, and participant impact targets
  • Support the development of new and innovative program pilots, bringing stakeholder feedback into iteration processes

Customer Experience & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with new and existing employer partners by providing exceptional customer service and tailored support, and by leading risk assessment and intervention strategies as required
  • Lead communications strategy for employers, writing clear, professional emails and refining outward-facing documents and tools
  • Co-lead the Employer Advisory Council, leveraging their feedback to influence program improvements and deepen VFC’s value proposition
  • Plan and host virtual networking and information sessions that reflect VFC’s values and brand
  • Process program-related grants and travel stipends

Operational Excellence, Data, and Systems Leadership

  • Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of admissions pipelines through process optimization and thoughtful client experience design
  • Lead all admissions pipeline CRM efforts in HubSpot, maintaining data hygiene, building workflows in collaboration with IT, and tracking conversions

What You Bring

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in program management, partnerships, operations, or customer success, preferably in a fast-paced or mission-driven environment
  • Strong professional presence and communication skills, able to earn the respect of business stakeholders, employers, and peers
  • A high degree of ownership and accountability, with the ability to follow through, escalate when needed, and solve problems before they grow
  • Comfort navigating data and systems, including experience with CRMS. Hubspot knowledge is an asset
  • A natural collaborator, able to gather information, influence across functions, and make sound decisions in real time
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure, with a track record of juggling competing priorities
  • Passion for youth development, innovation, and supporting entrepreneurial pathways
  • Prior people management experience is an asset
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace/Gmail, HubSpot, Slack, Zoom, and the Windows operating system are assets
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Interested in this role but don’t think you have the “right”: experience? We look for transferable skills too! We also heard only 1% of candidates will ever meet every single requirement on most job postings, so really it’s not a big deal if you don’t meet all our requirements.
