WHAT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?

A combination of the following education and experience factors will be considered:

  • Demonstrated leadership with proven results required
  • System configuration experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in medical billing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field, or comparable work experience preferred
  • Analytic thought process for investigating issues, identifying root causes, and resolving them

Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a team of Specialists charged with providing fast and effective solutions to customer requests and meet department goals and objectives
  • Responsible for the professional development of the team including training, coaching, feedback, and performance reviews
  • Manage team in daily activities, assign work, set completion dates, review work and manage performance in accordance with organization policies, procedures, and performance management processes
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of configuration changes/updates across all customer environments maintained by the team
  • Oversee creation of new clients and tests and facilitation of new payor process and payor changes
  • Oversee creation and update of fee schedules, incremental pricing, and consolidation rules based on customer request and industry expertise
  • Oversee maintenance of industry data, such as fee schedules and payor policies, in the billing system
  • Support new outsourced customer implementations, providing subject matter expertise on technical billing issues to inform customer decision-making during implementation process and ensuring a smooth go-live
  • Act as primary liaison between billing department and technical teams for complex issues related to billing system configuration and settings
  • Manage team documentation in Confluence and encourage team participation in note sharing
  • Communicate billing issues related to system configuration/settings easily and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Instruct others on business systems processes related to laboratory billing
    This is an onsite position at our offices in Charleston, SC or San Diego, CA.
