Description:
EDUCATION & ABILITIES
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA) plus seven (7) to ten (10) years’ recent, related experience, including a minimum three years’ in a management position within a large organization with an emphasis on accounting processing, financial systems and reporting.
- Extensive experience with complex computer systems, project planning and control.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
- Experience in a research setting, and an understanding of funding allocation and distribution practices.
- Leadership experience with an emphasis on knowledge of business planning, case costing and funding analysis, business process engineering, and business case development.
- Exceptional presentation and writing skills and be able to convey a message that is understandable and relevant, linking business issues, financial results and strategy.
- Effective coaching and mentoring skills and demonstrated experience supervising staff including hiring, training and completing performance reviews.
- Extensive knowledge of business administration.
- Proficiency in the use of computerized financial systems.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with others in a consultative/collaborative manner.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to achieve results through others.
- Demonstrated commitment to change and process management.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, problem-solve and prioritize work.
- Demonstrated ability to work diplomatically and persuasively to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various partners.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
- Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
- Strong ability to work in a time sensitive, multi-project environment.
- Demonstrated computer literacy including ability to use financial information systems and related software.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
