JOB OVERVIEW

Datec is a dynamic, entrepreneurial company and is seeking a similarly entrepreneurial and driven individual who is capable of establishing and implementing accounting and administrative processes . As part of the management team you will work closely with senior leadership and ownership to execute strategic initiatives for the company. The person will be a self-starter, require minimal oversight and be able to multi-task and manage priorities.
The candidate will be directly responsible for supporting the management of daily business operations through costing, inventory management, payroll and the preparation of weekly and monthly reporting documents, .analyzing operational results and customer/product profitability to control and monitor efficiencies, in the attainment of budget commitments. This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer, with a dotted reporting line to the Group Head of Finance.
Location: This position is based out of our offices at 130 Matheson Blvd E, Mississauga, ON L4Z 1Y6 and is a hybrid with an in-office presence required 4x per week.

QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA or progress toward designation preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of financial management experience,
  • Proven track record of transforming and organizing finance environments by establishing structure, clear accountability, and reliable financial systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing internal controls, documenting processes, and leading organizations through financial modernization.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software, payroll platforms, and Excel.
  • Exceptional integrity, resilience, and sound judgment; comfortable operating in ambiguous and unstructured contexts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage effectively with staff, board members, funders, and auditors.
  • Collaborative leadership style, with a capacity for influence and organizational change management.
