Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Manager – Financial modelling and analysis (Manager) will develop and maintain key relationships with other senior members in Metals (across multiple regions). In collaboration with relevant technical, operational and finance teams, the Manager will develop financial models that facilitate decision-making, and clearly present financial analysis and recommendations to senior management in Metals.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Life of Asset (LOA): The LOA process sets out the valuation and long-term strategy for each asset in Metals (open pit mines, underground mines, concentrators, smelters and refineries). The Manager will work with regional finance and technical teams to deliver the LOA valuations; which are ultimately presented to the Glencore Senior Executive team (based in Baar, Switzerland).
Financial due diligence (Vendor/buy side): The Manager will work with the Business Development team (based in Baar, Switzerland) to develop vendor financial models and assess buy-side opportunities. Recommendations are presented to the global Metals CEO/CFO and, where necessary, to the Glencore Senior Executive team.
Capital projects: Capital projects follow a Capital Management Framework, which establishes viability of capital projects from concept through to execution. The Manager will work closely with the relevant capital projects team, developing valuation models and assessing options (NPV, IRR, payback period) to support the projects’ business case and prioritise the deployment of capital.
Transformation projects: The purpose of the transformation projects is to assess alternative operating scenarios (primarily metallurgical assets), to facilitate continuous performance improvement and profitability of the assets. The Manager will work with relevant technical and finance teams, turning complex data into information that can be used for decision-making by senior management.
