POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, FP&A – Operations Focus will act as the strategic financial partner to our Operations, Procurement, and Product Development teams. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed cost models, driving visibility into operational performance, and supporting cost-efficiency initiatives across the business.
The Manager will also lead the development and maintenance of key KPIs, ensure integrity of standard costing models, and support broader initiatives around systems integration, process standardization, and cross-functional reporting.
This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to combine financial expertise with hands-on operational partnership in a growing manufacturing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

· CPA designation (or in final stages); MBA or equivalent business education is an asset.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
· 5–7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, cost accounting, or operations finance in manufacturing (food/CPG preferred).
· Deep knowledge of standard costing, cost accounting principles, and manufacturing cost structures.
· Strong skills in data modeling, Excel, and ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, or Dynamics preferred).
· Experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and financial system projects.
· Excellent communicator, strong business acumen, and ability to partner across functions.
· Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver insights in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Operations Financial Business Partnering
· Serve as the primary finance liaison to Plant Operations, identifying and quantifying efficiency and cost savings opportunities.
· Analyze plant performance, including yield, labour, run rates, waste, and overhead absorption.
· Provide actionable insights through variance analysis of actuals vs. standard on direct cost elements (materials, labour, freight).
Costing & Standard Cost Maintenance
· Own and maintain standard cost models for raw materials, packaging, labour, and freight.
· Review and update standards periodically in coordination with Operations and Procurement teams.
· Support annual standard cost rollouts and provide impact assessments to FP&A and business partners.
New Product & Project Costing
· Collaborate with Product Development and Commercial teams to develop cost models for new product launches, limited time offers (LTOs), and innovation projects.
· Provide cost inputs for pricing decisions and margin analysis, ensuring assumptions reflect operational realities.
Freight & Logistics Analysis
· Understand and model the company’s freight network and cost drivers.
· Partner with Supply Chain to track freight spend, benchmark carrier performance, and recommend optimization strategies.
· Build dashboards to measure freight KPIs and drive accountability for cost and service.
Procurement & Cost Savings Support
· Support Procurement in identifying and quantifying supplier-related cost savings initiatives.
· Develop cost-benefit analyses for ingredient changes, packaging optimizations, or contract renegotiations.
· Track realized savings and link them back to financial forecasts and budgets.
KPI Development & Performance Monitoring
· Define, track, and maintain KPIs across Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain including productivity, waste, freight cost per kg, OEE, etc.
· Build standardized dashboards and reporting tools for performance monitoring.
· Present KPI insights in weekly/monthly Ops and Executive reviews.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Reporting
· Lead operational cost forecasting for plants, freight, and direct materials.
· Partner with Finance and Operations during annual budget cycles and rolling forecasts.
· Provide timely and accurate financial reporting and variance commentary.
Systems, Process Improvement & Standardization
· Support financial system improvements, including ERP enhancements, reporting automation, and master data standardization.
· Participate in cross-functional IT projects related to planning, costing, and performance tracking.
· Help drive consistency in financial and operational reporting processes across plants and business units.
