    The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Office of the Associate Secretary, is seeking a Manager, Financial Policy to provide a critical role within the Finance branch.

  • Relevant qualification in policy, strategy or finance would be highly regarded.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Overseeing the Financial Policy team, the Manager, Financial Policy will be responsible for leading the development of important finance led submissions to Government as well as other sustainability submissions and report backs on behalf of the department. The position will also have an important role in providing responsive and strategic financial policy advice to the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Secretary. The role will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Strategy and Policy.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide authoritative, strategic financial policy advice to departmental executives, as it relates to a range of justice portfolios.
  • Lead the development and implementation of highly complex and sensitive policy and reform outcomes, including leading research, consultation and engagement activities.
  • Oversee delivery of highly complex, sensitive and contentious key policy initiatives, including recognising potential barriers and developing effective mitigation strategies.

  • Well-developed knowledge of government and the justice system, including issues and pressures to which the department and government has to respond.
