Job Summary: Manages the overall activities necessary for the production and service of food to hospital patients, healthcare providers and catering. Manages employees by advising and mentoring on correct production practices, procedures, and safety and efficiency techniques. Oversees quality of food served. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Serves as working supervisor for team or work group using comprehensive knowledge of a seasoned professional. Provides technical leadership while performing escalated or complex duties. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required Master's Degree: Preferred Five years' relevant experience: Preferred One year's leadership experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: SERV Safe certification or equivalent: Preferred Registered Dietitian (RD): Preferred Essential Functions: Manages the daily operation of the kitchen and storeroom effectively and efficiently by assisting staff, patients, and visitors. Maintains organization of workflow throughout the departments. Creates an environment that upholds employee morale. Solicits customer feedback, evaluates it, and takes appropriate action. Takes effective action to maintain food and supply budget within financial guidelines. Prepares documentation to comply with department policies, regulatory agencies, etc. by working with other hospital personnel or corrective actions. Conducts performance appraisals and the documentation regarding personnel issues. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
