Important update on location: this role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the Event Strategy and Delivery (ESD) Branch during a period of growth and transition. Initially based at 530 Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000, the position will relocate to the new office at 465 Plummer Street, Port Melbourne. The new location will become the primary workplace for the ESD branch from January 2026, with some teams transitioning ahead of this date.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Election Programs, this role will be responsible for:
  • Developing and managing costing frameworks for electoral events across Victoria.
  • Forecasting expenditure and providing financial modelling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Overseeing invoicing processes for local government and fee-for-service elections.
  • Preparing reports, budgets and tools to support planning and branch operations.
  • Leading a small team to deliver accurate and timely costing and financial support.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Experience designing or managing financial models and budgeting in a regulated setting
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills to support strategic planning
  • Proficiency in Excel and ability to learn and apply internal systems
  • Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders and present financial insights
