Responsibilities

PLAY A CENTRAL ROLE IN ADVANCING FRENCH LANGUAGE SERVICES IN ONTARIO’S JUSTICE SECTOR

Are you passionate about strengthening access to French language services in Ontario’s justice system? Do you thrive at the intersection of program management, financial stewardship, stakeholder engagement, and public service? The Justice Sector French Language Services office is looking for an experienced and inclusive professional to join our management team.
In this unique bilingual role, you will provide expert leadership and advice to justice ministries on policies, programs, and compliance related to French Language Services (FLS), ensuring programs meet legislative obligations under the French Language Services Act, Courts of Justice Act, and Criminal Code of Canada. You will manage multiple educational and training initiatives, including overseeing the French Language Institute of Professional Development (FLIPD), lead stakeholder consultations, and coordinate translation services.
You will also oversee federal funding agreements, manage financial transactions, procurement processes, and reporting, while leading research and analysis activities to inform strategic planning and continuous program.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to apply your policy expertise, strategic planning, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and bilingual skills to advance French language services in Ontario’s justice sector, we would love to hear from you!

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and delivery of educational programs and curriculum for the justice sector, including the national French Language Institute for Professional Development (FLIPD), to promote access to justice in both official languages.
  • Provide strategic advice, expert guidance, and oversight for the planning, delivery, and compliance of French Language Services policies and programs across justice ministries.
  • Direct and manage translation services, public outreach initiatives, and stakeholder consultations with ministries, agencies, law societies, educational institutions, and community organizations.
  • Conduct environmental scans, research, policy and program analyses, and prepare reports, briefings, and recommendations for senior executives.
  • Lead cross-jurisdictional committees, working groups, and partnerships to develop coordinated policy frameworks and strengthen access to French language services.
  • Develop and implement communications, marketing, and outreach strategies for internal and external stakeholders, including senior government leadership.
  • Lead procurement processes, manage service contracts, and oversee financial, human resource, and operational budgets.
  • Manage and support a team of administrative, translation, and program delivery staff, fostering an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing team culture
