Job Title: Manager, Funding and Working Capital
Position Reports To: Head of Finance
Job Location: Ottawa – Hybrid
Job Type: Permanent- Full-time
Salary: $105,000 - $120,000 CAD

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, commerce, or related field is required.
  • A CPA, CFA, or MBA (with a concentration in finance), would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of extensive and diverse financial management experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in banking with a focus on treasury functions, such as cash management and financing.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Be able to perform advanced data analysis with MS Excel/ Power BI tools.
  • Strong financial aptitude in forecasting, financial modelling, simulations, power BI, and power query.
  • Able to drive requests and deliverables from all levels within an organization.
  • Previous experience with large government bid/proposals would be an asset.
  • Self-starter and autonomous.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the Defence and Aerospace industries would be an asset.
  • Be able to hold a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Secret level) and Controlled Goods Clearance.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Strong oral and written English language capabilities.
  • Fluency in French would be an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison with financial institutions and manage all treasury-related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and major subcontractors to implement effective working capital strategies.
  • Oversee short-term assets and liabilities to maintain operational efficiency and ensure sufficient liquidity.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cash flow, receivables, and payables to support financial planning and performance tracking.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of working capital components and develop financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Design and implement preliminary job aids, policies, and procedures to strengthen the treasury function.
  • Identify and execute process improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of working capital management.
  • Assess, mitigate, and escalate credit risks to safeguard the organization’s financial position.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to inform leadership decisions.
  • Oversee bank reconciliation schedules in alignment with monthly reporting timelines.
  • Enforce internal controls policies and procedures, including consistent application of the Delegation of Authority (DOA), and ensure compliance with key financial requirements.
