Position Summary: This is a strategic role designed to engage the alumni of our schools for contributing funds, while also driving our digital retail fundraising campaign. You will be responsible for building lasting relationships, understanding donor motivations, and creating tailored fundraising products that resonate with alumni at different stages of their lives and careers. You will be responsible for planning and implementing fundraising strategies and campaigns to contribute to sustainable income generation. In this capacity, you will work closely with the Director Alumni Affairs and the fundraising team in developing proposals, articulating the University's fundraising case to ensure the efficient solicitation of alumni funding for student scholarships, patient welfare, research and infrastructure as well as designing and implementing annual fund campaigns. Key Responsibilities: Researching and building a sustainable pipeline of prospective international and local donors among the university’s alumni exploring new and innovative fundraising channels assisting in the preparation of effective alumni fundraising campaign concept notes, funding proposals, presentations to donors and pre and post meeting briefs leading, organizing and participating in meetings to expand alumni donor outreach coordinating and participating in initiatives towards improved alumni donor engagement ensuring timely provision of updates to alumni donors liaising with different departments in the organization to collect and collate relevant information for alumni donor reports/queries managing/ updating the internal donor management system and ensuring that all prospective and current alumni donor details are accurately recorded in the database providing support to ensure all data and communication related to fundraising with alumni donors is updated and as per schedule liaising with institutional departments and stakeholders on alumni fundraising programmes any other tasks assigned by supervisor. Qualifications and Experience Required: A Master’s degree from an accredited institution at least 5 – 7 years of experience in fundraising/marketing/sales experience in higher education advancement/alumni relations/fundraising is preferred strong oral and written communication skills a pleasant demeanour with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills excellent understanding and experience of using MS Excel and PowerPoint proven project management skills, including ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with tight deadlines enthusiasm for AKU’s mission.
