The Future Students Manager is responsible for leading recruitment, outreach, and engagement strategies to attract and enrol both domestic and international students at HWUM. This role oversees end-to-end student recruitment operations, manages agency and school partnerships, and ensures the Future Students Team achieves enrolment targets through strategic planning, effective marketing, and outstanding customer service. The Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Communications (MRAC) Department is seeking a Manager, Future Students to join the team. As the first point of contact for prospective students, the Future Students team plays a pivotal role in shaping student experiences and driving enrolment success. In this role, you will lead both the domestic school outreach team and the international student recruitment team. You will be responsible for planning, strategizing, and executing nurturing events across public, private, and international schools to build a strong pipeline of prospective students. The post holder will also be tasked with developing and executing activities to achieve student recruitment targets for both international and domestic markets. A key responsibility of this role includes managing and strengthening partnerships with recruitment agents, expanding the agent portfolio locally and internationally, and driving growth in existing and emerging target markets. Key Duties and Responsibilities 1. Recruitment & Marketing Strategy Develop, plan, and manage recruitment strategies to attract international and domestic students, aligned with HWUM’s institutional goals. Design and implement marketing campaigns (digital, print, events) in collaboration with the Marketing & Campaigns team. Coordinate outreach activities including school visits, open days, expos, and virtual events to strengthen HWUM’s brand presence. Cultivate relationships with high school counsellors, agents, partner institutions, and articulation pathway providers. Leverage social media and digital platforms to actively engage and attract prospective students. 2. Student Services & Relations Oversee the future student journey from initial inquiry to enrolment, ensuring an exceptional customer experience for students and families. Supervise a team handling student inquiries, applications, and admissions, ensuring timely and accurate follow-up. Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate orientation programmes and onboarding support for new students. Act as a liaison for international students, including support with visa applications, compliance, and settling-in processes. 3. Recruitment Operations & Performance Lead and monitor Education Consultants, setting clear KPIs and tracking performance by intake cycle. Establish and monitor sales objectives, including lead generation, conversion, and enrolment targets. Use CRM systems for territory management, event tracking, and lead management to support data-driven decision-making. Regularly analyse recruitment data (conversion rates, market insights, competitor activities) to optimize strategies. Prepare and present progress reports to senior management. 4. Partnerships & Agent Management Develop, appoint, and manage recruitment agents in Malaysia and overseas, including performance reviews and training. Work with regional representatives to coordinate recruitment strategies and maximize market reach. Identify and pursue new markets and opportunities based on industry developments and trends. 5. Academic Collaboration & Engagement Programmes Partner with academic teams to design nurturing and engaging programmes for campus visits, workshops, and virtual sessions. Support the delivery of impactful student experiences that build strong connections with HWUM. 6. Team Leadership & Development Lead, motivate, and develop the Future Students Team, including recruitment officers, administrative staff, and student ambassadors. Provide coaching, training, and performance management to strengthen team capabilities. Delegate responsibilities effectively, recognize achievements, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence. Person Specification Education & Qualifications Essential Must have a degree – preferably in marketing, communications, business, administration or relevant professional qualifications 2. Experience Essential A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a student recruitment environment. Proven experience in leading teams and engaging stakeholders to deliver effective and efficient Domestic and International recruitment strategies. Experienced in managing external agencies to enhance and supplement recruitment activities. Desirable Strong record of success in goal-driven roles CRM experience/training to manage sales pipeline. Proficient in data analysis, performance reporting, and executing strategic initiatives Familiarity with international student markets and regional recruitment trends. 3.
