QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree in education, business management, social sciences, communications or other relevant field of study. Working towards the completion of a Masters degree preferred.
  • Five to seven years of relevant experience in a leadership role and experience in an international education setting is required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrates knowledge of International Education, Business Management and public service
  • Knowledge of Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (or all relevant laws) requirements
  • Knowledge of CBE Administrative Regulations sections of the Education Act, and the Alberta Funding Manual for School Authorities which apply to international students
  • Understanding of educational requirements regarding international student exchange policies
  • Understanding of educational programs offered by the CBE
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills that provide sound decision making and social-emotional support
  • Strong oral, written, listening, and presentation skills
  • Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills
  • Critical, flexible, creative and systematic thinking
  • Knowledge of building and leading teams and a commitment to teamwork
  • A commitment to and an ability to foster professionalism, creativity, diversity, and innovation

Responsibilities

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE LOOK LIKE?

The CBE understands the future of work is flexible. In this role, you are eligible to participate in a flexible work program that allows you to work remotely for up to three days a week. A minimum of two days must be in the office. At certain times, you maybe be required to work in the office more then 2 days per week based on operational requirements.
