About the role AGL Loy Yang has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager, Health and Safety. This role leads safety strategy and culture across the entire site. AGL is at the forefront of Australia’s energy transition, with our generation sites playing a critical role in delivering safe, reliable energy today while evolving for the future. At Loy Yang Power Station, you’ll be part of a long-term operation with opportunity to step into other assets as AGL transitions to a renewable portfolio. You’ll work closely with operational leaders, contractors and corporate stakeholders to deliver AGL’s goal of zero harm, while supporting the long-term resilience, capability and safety of our workforce as our generation portfolio evolves. What you’ll do: Lead and embed a strong, sustainable safety culture across the site, with a mindset of continuous improvement all levels Provide strategic health and safety leadership to operational teams, supporting the long-term operation and transition of AGL’s generation assets Lead, coach and develop a collaborative and high-performing health and safety team that proactively identifies trends, delivers insights and practical risk based solutions Oversee risk management activities including risk assessments, safety observations and critical control verification Review Contractor Health & Safety Management Plans to ensure alignment with AGL standards and site requirements Design and maintain robust systems for managing health and safety risk, including risk registers, reporting, and assurance processes Actively contribute to the Site Leadership Team and broader HSE network, influencing decisions, sharing insights and strengthening compliance outcomes What you’ll bring: Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety (WHS); Occupational Hygiene capability is desirable Leadership experience in health and safety roles within high risk (e.g. energy, oil & gas, mining or heavy industry) A proven ability to influence, develop stakeholder relationships and partner with operations Expertise in health monitoring programs, medical surveillance and regulatory reporting Demonstrated capability in risk management, safety systems, auditing and project deliver with a practical, improvement focused mindset Applications close 15 April Inclusion at AGL At AGL, we value diversity and welcome applicants from various backgrounds, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals with disabilities, culturally diverse individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Responsibilities
