Job Summary:
Provide supervision over the ordering, receiving, storage, tracking, and distribution of supplies and materials for W.W. Hastings Hospital and the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center (CNOHC) in Tahlequah. This position will coordinate with respective facility leadership to ensure clinician satisfaction, improve financial sustainability, and seamless provisioning of healthcare materials.
Job Duties:
Supervision of the ordering, selection, delivery, receiving, storage and distribution of medical supplies. Provide input on the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to Materials Management. Coordinate and collaborate in the selection of supplies with input from clinical and administrative leadership. Participate in activities of the Value Analysis Committee for the healthcare organization. Ensures the safety and security of people, equipment, and supplies associated with the operation of healthcare facilities based on 24/7 operations for both outpatient and inpatient services. Collaborates with Surgical Services leadership and stakeholders to ensure timely access to surgical supplies. Participate in administrative operations such as interviewing and selecting candidates for Materials Management, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, enforcing discipline in accordance with Cherokee Nation Human Resources and Health Services policies and procedures. Maximizes value to Cherokee Nation Health Services via innovation, best practices, and resource stewardship. Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school or two (2) years (60 credit hours) coursework from a 4-year college or university in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration; or two (2) years of experience in a Materials Management/Logistics/Supply Chain Management leadership position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
An additional two (2) years of experience in a related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Human Resources systems; Inventory software; Order Processing software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software; and Word Processing software.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Supervises five (5) to twenty (20) employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints with resolving problems.
