JOB SUMMARY: WEALTH MANAGEMENT CLIENT MANAGER

The Wealth Management Select Client Manager (CM) is a critical role leading our front-line Relationship Managers who serve some of Vanguard’s largest and most complex clients with $5-25M AUM. They are responsible for delivering a quality client experience, increasing client loyalty and retention, and driving growth. We are seeking a highly motivated sales and/or client service leader, coach, and strategic problem solver to join the Wealth Management team in Arizona.
Client Managers directly influence the Wealth Management mission. As a member of our Select leadership team, you will play a critical role in making this vision a reality by coaching your crew to achieve Trusted Partner status, delivering with Reliability, Credibility, and Connection, supported by a Client First Orientation.
You will lead a team of approximately 10 Relationship Managers serving 3,400 families with $20 billion in AUM. Your primary responsibility will be coaching and developing a team of Relationship Managers to delight clients, deepen loyalty, and create value for our Wealth Management Clients by uncovering unmet needs and aligning suitable solutions. As a result, you will help deepen and expand our client relationships and retain families through generations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five years related work experience. Three years of experience in Financial Services. Relationship Management and Sales experience preferred.
  • Previous sales leadership experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • This job requires FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 65, 66 or ability to acquire within department guidelines.
Responsibilities
  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Deepens loyalty with existing Ultra High Net Worth clients by anticipating needs and demonstrating expertise to align solutions. Supports strategy planning for a book of business. Model growth opportunities, contribute to business planning activities, and support client account retention.
  • Provides guidance and support to Wealth Management Select Relationship Managers. Assists in the recovery and strengthening of at-risk relationships coaching Relationship Managers to demonstrate empathy and deeply understanding client needs.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors goals and action plans. Reviews team performance and identifies trends, suggests improvements, and provides analysis/feedback to Relationship Manager.
  • Resolves complex client issues related to products or processes by taking ownership and delivering consistently with excellence. Influences changes among the team to improve end-to-end processes and meet client needs.
  • Participates in solution development with internal colleagues and cross-functional teams. Supports Relationship Managers in identifying potential options for solutions.
  • Uses technical knowledge of Vanguard funds, products, and services to proactively identify opportunities to strengthen the client relationship.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
