Description

Volkshotel is a place for single mums, dandies, artists and night owls. A place where there’s life 24/7 and creativity flows. In Volkshotel, locals and travellers gather to eat, drink, work, sleep and play. With Werkplaats (café & co-working spaces), Doka (sound bar), Canvas (restaurant on the 7th floor), Broedplaats VKG (85 work spaces for creative minds) and 216 hotel rooms, this former newspaper building is more than just a place for tourists to sleep. The reasonable prices and easy-going vibe make Volkshotel a place for everyone.
Volkshotel’s housekeeping team consists of 25 employees and 2 Assistant Managers. We’re looking for someone who can keep their head cool when the laundry carts are full and the list of rooms still to do is long. As Housekeeping Manager, you’ll be a familiar face in the building. You lead the crew that makes sure guests don’t find someone else’s socks in their room and that every floor looks the way it should. You keep procedures on track, the pace steady, and the mood good. You report to the Operations Manager and know exactly what it takes to get the job done.

Responsibilities
  • Keeping all hotel rooms and public areas clean and in shape, meeting cleaning and service standards down to the smallest detail.
  • Building, scheduling, and leading the housekeeping team. From hiring and training to giving feedback and checking work quality.
  • Hitting productivity targets by monitoring efficiency and keeping accurate time records.
  • Keeping operations smooth by spotting problems, improving processes, and making sure procedures are clear.
  • Maintaining good coordination with other teams in the hotel.
  • Leading by example and stepping in on the floor when needed.
  • Purchasing supplies and services, making agreements with suppliers, and keeping costs in check.
  • Ensuring safety, health, and HACCP rules are followed.
  • Organizing and carrying out the yearly deep-clean.
