Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role plays a key part in shaping HR strategies, coaching site leadership teams, and implementing policies that promote compliance, engagement, and operational success. Leading a team of HR professionals, you will provide expertise in recruitment, onboarding, benefits, labour relations, and performance management, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining HR policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with employment laws.
  • Support union negotiations, assist in the implementation of new collective agreements, handle grievances and investigations, and ensure adherence to legal, accreditation, and internal policies.
  • Aid in the implementation of compensation and benefits programs, coordinating with payroll and internal teams to ensure effective execution and management.
  • Mentor and support HR Partners by providing expert guidance to leadership teams across AgeCare communities in Alberta, ensuring timely execution of AgeCare processes and procedures.
  • Identify training opportunities to enhance HR capabilities and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead HR-related projects, collaborate with senior leadership on policy and program development, and continuously improve existing HR practices.
  • Utilize Workday, UKG, and systems to track HR metrics, ensure data accuracy, and maintain compliance with audits and accreditation, ensuring timely and accurate information is stored in shared drives.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion when handling sensitive HR matters, fostering a culture of trust and integrity.
