Team & Culture
DENT is looking for an experienced and dynamic HR professional to join our growing team. As a generalist, you will collaborate closely with the employees and other departments to support the various functions of HR primarily focused on recruiting, retention, performance management, and supporting the different programs implemented to support the scaling of the business. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. They are equally detail-oriented and able to adapt as needed. The position will be based in our Kelowna office with an expectation to travel to our head office in Hope, BC as required.
EXPECTATIONS
- Maintain and track employee records including personal information, personal documentation, and ongoing changes to employment status.
- Responsible for the full-cycle recruiting process including creating the job descriptions, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and general communication.
- Work with multiple departments to support the employee life-cycle, identify gaps in support or risks to the organization, and communicate them effectively and confidently.
- Assist with developing and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations.
- Experienced in a union and non-union environment and comfortable representing the interests of the organization with either group.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, and performance management.
- Be well-versed and experienced with HR trends, best practices, and legislative changes to proactively address any potential impacts on the organization.
- Tracking and providing reporting for standard HR metrics such as onboarding, turnover, demographics, and exit interviews.
- Work collaboratively with Directors in each department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- HR experience in the construction industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations, particularly in British Columbia.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suite.
- Previous working knowledge of BambooHR.
- HR certification (e.g., CHRP, CHRL) is considered an asset.
