MONROVIA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL – IMMEDIATE OPENING

Monrovia Memorial Hospital, a leading provider of acute care services, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and support our HR operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources management and administration, including employee relations, talent acquisition and retention, benefits administration, compliance, and organizational development.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable with strategic planning and day-to-day administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, healthcare environment.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years of HR experience in healthcare, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting.
  • At least 1 year of experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity.
  • Must be well-versed in both Federal and California employment laws, including Title 22.
  • Experience with healthcare accreditations preferred (ACHC, or The Joint Commission, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer/data entry skills required.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operations of the Human Resources Department, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, state and federal employment laws, and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on HR matters, including staffing, employee relations, policy interpretation, and organizational planning.
  • Manage the full employee life cycle including recruitment, onboarding, orientation, employee development, and offboarding.
  • Support managers in employee counseling, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and termination procedures, ensuring appropriate documentation and adherence to hospital standards.
  • Maintain and audit employee records and ensure accurate data entry into the HRIS system (preferably Paylocity), including licensures, certifications, hire dates, and employment status.
  • Oversee benefits administration, including health, disability, leave of absence, and workers’ compensation; serve as liaison with benefit providers and ensure clear communication with employees.
  • Coordinate and manage workers’ compensation claims in accordance with state laws and hospital policies, including documentation, follow-up, and case management.
  • Develop and conduct monthly New Hire Orientation and Annual Re-orientation Programs; deliver training or in-services on HR-related topics as needed.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures; recommend updates in line with best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Address employee grievances, conduct thorough investigations, and resolve conflicts to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that promotes staff engagement, collaboration, and retention.
