Description

At Datadog, we process millions of monitors every minute, alerting our customers when configured thresholds are crossed. Engineers across the world trust us to alert them when necessary, so our Alerting stack needs to be reliable and scalable.
Data is at the heart of our decision-making. Our Analytics Data Platform Governance team is responsible for managing our Data Catalog, which tracks millions of data assets and their metadata, supports event-driven pipelines, and ensures compliance at scale. This platform empowers our engineers to build reliable pipelines and our analysts to make data-driven decisions confidently.
The Data Catalog sees high usage, handling 1k requests per second and tracking 30M new assets monthly, driving critical workflows across Datadog. Our team is building the next generation of Data Observability and Access Control tooling so that these datasets can be trusted and safe.
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our team towards building the next generation of Data Observability and Data Access Management tooling for everyone at Datadog.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 5 to 7 Backend Engineers to build the next generation of Data Observability and Access Control tooling for data practitioners at Datadog.
  • Own the team’s roadmap and vision, breaking it down into achievable tasks and assigning them accordingly
  • Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to understand their specific needs
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in data processing technologies to identify opportunities for integration and improvement.
  • Actively contribute to the team’s effort by writing and reviewing pull requests.
