Description This position is in-office every day at our East Point locations and must be available to work weekend and flexible hours, as needed Who We Are: The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries about where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. Where You’ll Work: Operations / Supply Chain About the Role: The individual in this position is responsible for leading food packing and/or client food distribution operations, utilizing volunteers and staff to complete all key tasks. This role will provide engagement, coordination and customer service to volunteers and clients-in-need across multiple shifts, in fixed and/or mobile distribution locations within the Atlanta Community Food Bank network. This position will ensure the execution of food center distribution and/or product rescue operations, including relevant warehouse, production and non-CDL transportation processes, while maintaining compliance with food, personnel and DOT safety, and program distribution reporting requirements. Support for some evening and weekend operations is required. This position reports to the Director, Operations. What You’ll Do: Leads a Team: Assigns performance goals, initiatives and work tasks to direct reports Coaches and develops team members to successfully perform in roles Ensures effective utilization of volunteer labor to execute inventory management, supply management, and client distribution plans Manages performance of team members, including administration of the performance management tools and the disciplinary processes Customer Service Ensure execution of standards for volunteer assignment scheduling, training, and acknowledgement of production and supply chain activities Where relevant, respectfully schedule client intake and meals distribution Ensure appropriate volunteer and client data management, including client data confidentiality Operations and Warehousing: Ensure effective execution of all inventory management activities, including product receipt, packaging, storage, and movement Execute appropriate food, personnel and/or transportation safety standards Implement continuous improvement to maintain effective process operations Key Competencies we look for in All our Food Bankers are: Customer Focus Decision Making Accountability The Ability to Navigate Change What You’ll Need: Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate: Consistent history of building a successful team, including leading, coaching, developing, and managing performance, interviewing, and selecting team members, and resolving conflict Solid work history of successfully managing a warehousing and/or retail operation, including organization and maintenance of the physical space, managing staffing and/or coordination of volunteers, and planning and maintaining inventory levels Demonstrated success in developing and implementing processes in accordance with safety guidance while ensuring timely execution and delivery of product to clients Must have working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Office, Outlook, Power point) and Google Software Must have demonstrated knowledge of production and warehouse management ERP software systems Must have good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to multi-task, work on projects, use good judgment, work with and manage diverse work groups that work in a fast-paced environment.
