Description

The Infrastructure Manager position is a critical role in the day-to-day operations related to global IT Infrastructure. This role is responsible for the management and maintenance of servers, networks, voice, data centers, cloud environments, vendor relationships, and the disaster recovery plan. The position is also responsible for managing the IT Operations budgets, status reporting to management, and liaising with the Business. The Infrastructure Manager should also have a focus on optimizing and proposing technologies to improve administration and service delivery. They will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in the department, and strategically for IMS Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for infrastructure changes through change control processes and procedures.
  • Oversees the development of plans for systems upgrades based on projected growth of system utilization.
  • Actively participates and leads projects centered around the adoption of Microsoft Cloud, including the planning and migration of existing workloads to Azure and M365.
  • Research and propose new technologies, techniques, and strategies for improving service delivery.
  • Specify and interact with multiple outside vendors and coordinate vendor services to meet the needs of the ABS business computing environment.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of key IT infrastructure, on prem and in the cloud.
  • Provide guidance and recommend continuing technical and professional development for subordinate staff members. Also, prepares performance appraisals and provides timely performance feedback to staff members.
  • Meets and confers with all levels of ABS Management to ensure that system improvements and expansion projects are identified, prioritized, staffed and scheduled to meet company needs and objectives. Prepares and delivers both high-level and detailed presentations as needed.
  • Responsible for preparing, obtaining management approval, and stewarding results of detailed plans and operating budgets associated with both projects and on-going operations.
  • Works closely with the End User Technologies, Service Desk, IT Security, and Development teams to ensure policies are followed.
  • Responsible for evaluations and contract negotiations for hardware, software, and services related to ABS worldwide data connectivity and voice communications.
  • Participates in the development, ongoing testing, and stewardship of Disaster Recovery Plan; oversees implementation of plan in emergency situations.
  • Provide non-technical review advice to Director, Managers, and staff and, as necessary, to end-user management and user community.
  • Review and ensure conformance with standards, policies and procedures involved with or related to the delivery of IMS services.
  • Perform all other duties that from time to time will be assigned by the IMS Operations Director, VP or CIO.
