EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years of experience in managing an outpatient coding team, coding compliance, risk adjustment programs, or similar fields
  • Required: CPC or CCS credential(s)
  • Preferred: CRC, CPMA, COC, CDEO, CDIP, RHIA, or RHIT credential(s)
  • Experience developing and managing direct reports
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to impact change
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize, prioritize, and evaluate workload and specific growth opportunities
  • Possesses the ability to balance strategic vision and execution capabilities to deliver results
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel

Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining DaVita IKC’s Coding team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize, monitor, evaluate, and manage daily workflow
  • Provide work direction, track inflow and outflow of coded encounters and billing edits/task completion
  • Conduct formal and ad-hoc Coding audits and training
  • Support executive, management and front-line initiatives and performance reporting and communication. Prepare timely and accurate monthly and annual reporting as required to support regular operating reviews
  • Collaborate with clinical, financial, legal, compliance, and risk teams to enable rollout of new programs
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of clinical and business stakeholders through written and verbal communication
  • Other duties as assigned
