JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • The Manger - Industrial Sales is responsible for managing and transforming AAM’s business in the Industrial Sector. Located in Halifax, UK the job involves extensive international travel, both within Europe, the US and Asia.
  • Key tasks include identifying and winning new business, maintaining and deepening existing client relationships, engaging in technical product discussions and managing after-sales processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Builds and develops external relationships with Licensees and Service Representatives.
  • Formulates an annual plan for the review of Licensees/Representative connections, implements any changes needed to contractual agreements or pricing.
  • Creates and implements a pricing strategy for Damper Service, OEM sales, spares and special products with an awareness of the external market and internal company costings.
  • Designs a marketing strategy that supports the product line and encourages new business, initiating advertising campaigns where appropriate.
  • Services current customers by maintaining rapport, making periodic visits, identifying new business opportunities, responding to requests and resolving issues.
  • Identifies new customers by studying sales statistics, estimating potential sales volume and qualifying potential customers.
  • Develops new customers by establishing new distribution channels, explains product potential to retailers, identifies possibilities for product improvements and new product innovations.
  • Achieves sales objectives by obtaining and negotiating contracts.
  • Prepares account information and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

  • Successfully completed Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Studies or equivalent
  • At least 7 years’ sales experience, ideally focused on industrial vibration control products
  • Strong understanding of marine, power generation and large plant engineering technology (design, technical requirements)
  • Strong track record of success in sales, both within existing accounts and generating new business
  • Theoretical understanding and practical experience of business culture in European, North American & Asian markets
  • Good negotiation, analytical and organizational skills
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivating attitude, highly independent, proactive working style
  • Very good skills in MS-Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Willingness to travel extensively, both within Europe and internationally
  • Excellent written and spoken English
