Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Planning:

  • Leading the development of the SAAS Strategic Asset Management Plan, including capital improvements, refurbishments, regulatory compliance, and preventative maintenance.
  • Providing expert advice to support strategic facility needs across SAAS and the formulation and implementation of major infrastructure programs.
  • Supporting the Chief Executive Officer and Executive in the strategic decision-making process within SAAS relating to Infrastructure and Facility Management.

Policy Development and Expert Consultancy:

  • Leading the development of major policy and procedural matters related to infrastructure and facilities management.
  • Providing expert consultancy advice and input to policy processes.
  • Advising on the delivery of supporting services, including data cabling, furniture, fittings, and equipment.

Performance Management and Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensuring a strategic approach is taken for improving SAAS’s performance in the management of built assets.
  • Providing advice on asset benchmarks, performance measures (e.g., energy consumption, environmental sustainability), and monitoring infrastructure performance.
  • Adopting a continuous improvement approach by monitoring, analyzing, and identifying areas of contract and service improvement.

Design and Project Management:

  • Leading the development of design solutions for minor works or refurbishment projects.
  • Implementing and reporting on the development and progress of key departmental projects and initiatives.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Demonstrating effective leadership as a change agent and participating in directorate decision-making and policy formulation activities.
  • Ensuring quality outcomes through the creation and maintenance of dynamic and positive team environments.
  • Fostering a positive work culture based on SA Ambulance’s values and promoting customer service, learning, and development.
  • Providing managerial support to direct reports, ensuring effective work definition and direction.

Contract Management and Compliance:

  • Monitoring contracts for the provision of services to ensure effective service delivery and contract compliance.
  • Liaising with service providers and site contractors to ensure proper maintenance, record-keeping, and accurate reporting.
  • Ensuring audit processes are in place to ensure contract compliance and assurance of effective service.
  • Ensuring all facilities are developed and maintained in compliance with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.
