Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Manager, Integrated Airport Flow Planning to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Airport Planning, the Manager, Terminal Systems Planning, plays a key role in shaping strategic terminal planning initiatives. This role is responsible for developing planning standards, defining terminal facility requirements, and providing both short- and long-term planning analysis. The position collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to guide the optimization and future development of terminal infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Accounting:

Prepare internal monthly reports and supporting documentation. Perform month-end close activities for purchasing and inventory sub-ledgers, prepare journal entries, and manage general ledger transactions. Support quarterly and annual audits by coordinating with internal and external auditors.

  • Project Management – Terminal Planning:

Lead terminal planning projects of significant scope, including the development of planning studies, analytical tools, and actionable recommendations to support executive decision-making. Manage all project phases—from tendering and contracting to scope development and delivery. Oversee the performance of consultants and contractors throughout execution.

  • Terminal Infrastructure Planning & Analysis:

Conduct demand forecasting, simulation modeling, and statistical analysis to support terminal capacity planning. Analyze facility utilization and develop strategies to optimize terminal operations and space allocation. Manage passenger and baggage flow data, negotiate data-sharing agreements, and develop business cases and cost-benefit analyses to support infrastructure investments.

  • Reporting & Stakeholder Communication:

Develop and present terminal planning reports, strategies, and recommendations to senior leadership and board committees. Contribute to the development of terminal planning standards and policies. Represent the organization at public meetings and external planning forums, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and beliefs.

  • Team Leadership – Terminal Systems Planning:

Lead and develop the Terminal Systems Planning team, including recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and budgeting. Uphold leadership commitments by clarifying strategic direction, fostering innovation, removing barriers, coaching team members, and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • University Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline + 10 years experience in airport or aviation planning, operations, or business strategy, including 2 years in leadership.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education (for example, a College Diploma + additional years of experience) may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational specialization in Airport or Air Transportation Planning is preferred.
  • Accreditation with the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) is considered an asset.
  • 5 years of direct leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams.
  • 5 years of experience in data collection and analysis, process improvement, statistical methods, and simulation modeling.
  • Strong working knowledge of airport planning and operations, including airside and terminal systems, capacity management, and coordination with airlines and government agencies.
  • Exceptional analytical and decision-making abilities, with strong organizational and time management skills in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and influence without direct authority.
  • Applied understanding of aviation industry trends, air travel demand drivers, and socio-economic, statistical, and forecasting methodologies. Strategic thinker with flexibility and adaptability.
  • Track record of success in customer-focused environments, with strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Transportation Security Clearance and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to maintain a strategic, long-term perspective while navigating evolving priorities.
    Additional Information
    This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
