REQUIRED SKILLS

• 7+ years of experience in a large corporate tax environment - Big 4 firm experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in project management and improvement projects.
• Solid local tax experience and technical skills.
• Transfer pricing experience is a plus.
• Ability to lead a group of professional employees:
• Capable of developing solid goals and objectives including “stretch goals”
• Capable of delivering honest, constructive feedback to staff.
• A good teacher.
• Capable of identifying and capturing process improvement opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Ability to work well with others and under minimal supervision
• Be able to perform technical research, and willing to teach staff how to perform technical research.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which requires prioritization and ability to multi-task.
• Highly self-motivated; takes initiative; identifies and addresses issues; works efficiently with attention to detail.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

• Masters in Taxation or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA or equivalent preferred

The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

• Review and supervise the preparation of IFRS and local GAAP income tax accruals for foreign entities assigned including reconciliation of deferred taxes and tax accounts.
• Review and calculate uncertain tax position under IFRIC 23 for foreign entities.
• Manage and review minimum tax requirements (local tax, Korean CFC and Pillar II) for assigned entities
• Manage and review local country tax work to include:
• local country compliance
• estimated tax payments for foreign income taxes
• local country audits and notices
• internal inquiries regarding various tax related matters
• credit and other beneficial opportunities
• step in as needed to help prepare if necessary
• Assist with technical tax research and analysis.
• Assist in identifying and capturing process improvement opportunities.
• Maintain tax calendar.
• Work with staff to develop goals and objectives and provide performance feedback.
• Manage consultants and tax preparers on projects.
• Assist with team deadlines.
• Deliver honest, constructive feedback to staff.
