Description:
OVERVIEW
This role will lead and drive a high performing Investment Operations team in the delivery of investment operations and unit pricing services, including middle office functions, to Fund Services investment manager clients.
This role requires demonstrated exceptional leadership as it is crucial in the providing exceptional solutions for Client Outcomes.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day team operations including managing task allocation and maintaining a daily task tracker for both completed work and management reporting. This role will be accountable in holding regular team meetings and huddles to drive collaboration and performance, holding regular service delivery meetings with clients are held to consistently meet and exceed client expectation and maintaining client query and issue logs to ensure seamless service delivery.
EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- The successful candidate will have 7-10 years’ previous experience within investment operations & custody environment preferably with a custodian, broker or fund manager
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in staff management including performance management, recruitment, induction, setting KPIs, assigning tasks
- Demonstrable and proven experience in a senior role managing team interacting with key stakeholders
- Comprehensive understanding of investment markets, the investment process and funds management operations
- Experience with multi-regional and onshore/offshore teams
- Strong leadership skills and management skills

Responsibilities:
Strategic Focus
- Possess comprehensive understanding and ongoing analysis of market and industry trends and developments within the third-party administration and custody market segments
- Drive an inquisitive culture to continuously seek understanding of each client to ensure the firm is well placed for the provision of solutions and client service
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of domestic and international investment instruments including equities, futures, options, spot and forward foreign exchange, swaps, Fixed Income, and Managed Funds
- Consistently ensure client satisfaction levels are maintained at a high level through excellent and consistent service delivery of required products and service and prompt resolution to complaints, issues and disputes
- Develop and drive key relationships with clients and other stakeholders
- Partner with investment manager clients, custodians, clearers and other market participants to deliver the services contained within client SLAs
Operational Management
- Successfully partner with the client service team to ensure delivery of services per the client’s SLA and ensure that all services provided are captured within the SLA
- Manage the onboarding of new clients and changes to services / products for existing clients
- Manage the delivery of core services covering post execution trade management, reconciliations, corporate actions, reporting and query management
- Foster a culture of evolving daily operational processes, recommending and implementing changes that drive continuous improvement, making processes simpler and more efficient for all
People Leadership
- Build a high performing and accountable team ensuring clear guidance and leadership through developing, coaching and mentoring
- Provide senior leadership and direction to all operational managers and team members to ensure the development of a high-performing team, including coaching and development, effective performance reviews and quality selection decisions
- Collaborate closely with an offshore team in India and manage direct reports in Australia to provide middle and back functions
- Manage and develop a team of Fund Administrators (both locally and offshore) which provide middle and back-office support to Fund Services investment manager clients
- Proactively seek development opportunities to foster and build strong and agile teams, both locally and in India
Governance & Risk
- Promote a risk management culture, and effectively limit risk exposure to MUFG Corporate Markets with strategies to mitigate risk
- Ensure the team meet and adhere to the risk and compliance frameworks and report compliance via the controlled self-assurance program
- Maintain issues log, takes initiative to resolve issues and escalate issues where appropriate
- Follow a Risk excellence framework by undertaking regular reviews of operational procedures and controls and adhering to the error reporting process
- Daily reporting of issues and resolution, business KPI reporting and escalate issues in a timely fashion
