We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position(s) in the Office of Research Affairs and Knowledge Transfer: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Develop and implement IP strategies and policies, managing the full lifecycle from patent application to portfolio management, and assist in creating market-aligned commercialisation plans. Drive research commercialisation and knowledge transfer by developing and facilitating industry collaboration through licensing, contract research, and consultancy services. Create commercialisation projects and new startup ventures by identifying and matching business opportunities with the University’s research talents, students, and alumni. Provide and manage startup investment support, including training workshops, guidance on company structure, and preparation of investment materials. Establish and nurture business networks with industry partners, investors, and potential customers to build sales channels and strategic collaborations for startups. Provide structured business support to startup founders, offering guidance on business development, operational best practices, and tracking key performance indicators to ensure effective resource use and alignment with commercialisation objectives. Compile and manage documentation related to the University’s IP portfolio, investment agreements, and progress reporting. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A recognized degree, preferably a higher degree with 10 years’ post-qualification experience in Business, Economics, Sciences and Technology, Law or related disciplines; 8 years of work experience in IP management, startup investment, entrepreneurship support, business development, or knowledge/technology transfer in local universities and institutions; Substantial experience in exploring new business opportunities, and liaising with industry, community and counsel to drive commercialisation and startup growth; Strong management, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as a servicing and collaborating mindset; A strong sense of self-motivation and ownership, and capability of working independently and collaboratively;and Excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
