Reporting to the Director of Program Quality, the Manager of Learning Experience Design is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of innovative learning experiences across the institution. This role involves creating strategic frameworks, ensuring alignment with academic goals, and overseeing curriculum design that supports accessibility, inclusivity, and student success. The Manager collaborates with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and leadership, to drive effective learning experiences. Additionally, they provide guidance and mentorship to a team while managing projects that contribute to the ongoing evolution of learning experiences at the institution.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and staff development capabilities.
  • Proven project management skills, including setting timelines and ensuring goal completion.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse institutional stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education required. Other degrees with educational components (eg. curriculum development, instructional design, educational studies, etc.) or degrees in combination with a certificate in adult learning or higher education may be considered in lieu of an education degree.
  • Graduate degree from the field of education preferred.
    Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
    Remuneration: $90,134.64 – $119,655.90 annually based on education and experience.

Knowledge

  • Expertise in learning design, blended and online learning experiences, and educational technology.
  • In-depth understanding of curriculum development, quality assurance standards, and compliance with accessibility and privacy regulations.
  • Familiarity with institutional policies, project management methods, and evaluation strategies for academic initiatives
Responsibilities

Learning Design and Development

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance learning design and curriculum development.
  • Support and ensure the implementation of policies, procedures, and quality standards for blended and online learning
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility, copyright, privacy, and information security standards.

Project Management

  • Lead planning and implementation of learning design projects, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
  • Monitor project progress, assess outcomes, and ensure quality assurance.
  • Communicate project updates and collaborate with key stakeholders.

Staffing and Collaboration

  • Manage and mentor a team supporting learning design and development initiatives.
  • Oversee recruitment, resource allocation, and staff development, ensuring alignment with NAIT’s strategic vision.
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners to support curriculum and learning initiatives and drive strategic goals.
