Can you tell me more about what you do at VLSB+C?
Great question! We’re really proud of the work we do. We are the regulator of the Victorian legal profession. We license lawyers and oversee service standards and conduct. This includes handling complaints about lawyers, investigating poor conduct and overseeing management of trust accounts. We are also the stewards of the public purpose and fidelity funds and administer these to support legal regulation and access to justice in Victoria.
Okay, and what role are you recruiting for?
We’re looking for a Manager, Licensing to join our Licensing & Complaints team on a fixed term basis until April 2026. You will be responsible for managing the Licensing team, leading the practising certificate grant and renewal process, and ensuring that licensing enquiries and applications are appropriately allocated, referred to other teams (as appropriate) and resolved.

  • A high level understanding of how to interpret and apply legislation.
  • Significant experience in a customer service, government and/or regulatory environment.
  • Substantial leadership and expertise in service delivery including data driven digital service delivery models.
  • Future-focused with excellent organisational awareness and ability to think strategically.
  • Demonstrated innovation and process improvement skills.
  • Understands how key functions of VLSB+C relate to each other and manages effectively through a changing environment
